Media & Technology

Transform the union into a digitized space for digital ministry, reaching out to the larger community in the social media platforms with the transformative gospel; acquire modern media equipment and gadgets for the digital ministry, enhanced capacity building and custodianship.

Context & Trend

Media remains one of the key pillars of evangelism and information dissemination within the CU. Over the years, particularly during the early stages of JOOUST CU, the media function has been housed in different dockets. Initially, it operated under the Vice-Chairperson and later under the Vice-Secretary, with its primary mandate being the development of a CU website — an objective that is yet to be achieved.

Following the 2025 constitutional review, Media was established as an independent docket, with oversight assigned to the Media Director. This transition reflects the growing importance of media and technology in advancing the mission and outreach of the CU.

With the emergence of artificial intelligence and evolving digital platforms, there is an increasing need for the Media docket to enhance its operations and engage more effectively in its mandate. Clear custodianship structures should be established to ensure that systems are used appropriately, equipment is well maintained, data is handled responsibly, and digital platforms remain active and secure.
